Approach

Dr. Bennett has worked in the field of psychology, growth and development for the past 30 years. Trained in gestalt, psychodynamic, somatic experiencing and experiential creative theory and practices, the blend of these modalities reflects her belief in working with the whole person – not just the symptoms – as the means of actively thriving in life, building sustainable, meaningful relationships in their lives, and maintaining satisfying work lives. Highly trained in an eclectic range of modalities, pathologizing the human condition is not the space she works in.

A particular area of specialty includes healing trauma using Somatic Experiencing, a potent psychobiological method for resolving trauma and relieving chronic stress by resetting the nervous system, restoring inner balance, enhancing resilience to stress and increasing vitality, equanimity and the capacity to actively engage in life.

Together, we will work to address current individual and relationship issues, identify and reframe conscious and unconscious beliefs, restore inner balance, and reset emotional patterns that have become embodied in behaviors and relationships, and learn practices to cope with life’s current and future challenges.

It is my goal to help my clients build a compassionate and curious relationship with themselves in order to transform Human Beings into Humans Being in the life they want to live.
